Students often come to OSD lacking in receptive and/or expressive skills in American Sign Language (ASL). This service is designed to provide either 1:1 or group sessions with the ASL specialist to improve on their skills in ASL.

Articulation, lip-reading and listening skills are offered as part of the Speech Comunications services at OSD. The IEP team will determine the type of goals and the frequency of services for the student found eligible for this service. Sessions can be 1:1 or in a group, depending on the objectives to be met for each student. We contract with Willamette Educational Service District for the services of a Speech Language Pathologist who comes to OSD to evaluate for and to provide speech services.
