ESS - Autism, OT, PT and Vision services

Autism Support

Occupational and Physical Therapy

OSD purchases the evaluation and consultation services of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).  When an evaluation is requested, a therapist conducts the assessment and then makes a report regarding ongoing therapy recommendations. The therapy, if warranted, is provided at OSD.

A part-time licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) provides occupational therapy.  Students in question are evaluated and recommendations are made for ongoing therapy.  In addition to individual therapy, the OT provides some in-class observation and group work, consults with staff and works directly with them on adapting the academic program to meet the needs of the students. The OT also makes recommendations for assistive technology and devices for students to enhance their ability to participate in the classroom.
