OSD has two guidance counselors and a school psychologist who work together to achieve the objectives listed below:
- To help students take full advantage of their academic, vocational and social opportunities at OSD.
- To help students realize their personal strengths.
- To help students communicate their wants and needs effectively.
- To help students expand their choices in handling life's situations and then accept responsibly for whatever final choices they make.
- To help students develop constructive strategies to resolve interpersonal problems.
- To assist students and their families in connecting with and utilizing community resources.
